I was realizing I haven't blogged for awhile and wanted to update my background too. But my favorite site with free blog backgrounds is down. ACK! What to do? Google it of course. As it turns out there are several sites that offer free blog backgrounds. I spent probably 40 minutes surfing and looking at all kinds of cool, ugly, crazy, interesting backgrounds before deciding on something. I followed the directions, saved my blog and eagerly hit "View Your Blog" to see what it looked like. What happened?? It was all white. Nothing happened! Ok, let's try again. Another website, another background. Follow the directions. Nothing. And it's not like this is really dificult (supposedly): just copy and paste. So what did I do wrong? Well in the absence of other options, I just turned to one of the standard backgrounds that this lovely website provides. Kindof boring looking I think, but better than nothing.
So what else is happening in our lives? Well I made a new discovery today. Nothing earth-shattering really. But in honor of Phil's cousin Lori and her "love" of broccoli (and to continue the "boring" theme from the title), I just had to share this. We were at Chuck E. Cheese today; the kids were playing and I was reading a book. I got pizza for the kids but got the salad bar for me (in an effort to start eating healthier this year). So I'm standing at the salad bar trying to decide how to build the salad. Lettuce? Check. Mushrooms? Check. Shredded Cheese? A little bit. Broccoli? Hmmm. I've never tried that on a salad before. Should I try it? Yes. I finish building my salad (carrots and light ranch dressing) and sit down to try it out. YUM! Broccoli raw is just as good as broccoli cooked. I know, I know. Probably not what you wre expecting to read. And definitely not the highlight of your day. But sometimes it's the little things in life that are exciting. At least to me.

I hope Lori reads your BLOG. We need to get her into the "light" about broccoli. It's a wonderful veggie.
You know what's disturbing about this? You decided to TRY the broccoli instead of RUNNING AWAY from the broccoli. All this time I've been trying to warn people about this veggie and instead of pushing people away from it, I'm apparently pushing people towards it!! It's not going as I had planned. I'm going to have to rethink my tactics......
I admit I was nervous about the broccoli. I mean, the broccoli I usually eat is cooked so I figured it was "safe" and couldn't hurt me. But the salad bar broccoli was raw -- would it attack me? But I decided to be brave; after all I am bigger than the broccoli. Surely I could subdue it if things got out of control.
hahaha I'm glad you were at the very least PREPARED for an attack. I'm surprised it didn't give you more trouble. I wonder if they gave it some sort of depressant to make sure that it didn't leap out at the customers like it's been known to do in the past. Sounds like the restaurant was doing it's best to protect the customers. That's good to know. But, even though you went in with your defenses up, I still do not condone consuming broccoli of any kind. Even if it's been drugged, it's still a dangerous vegetable.
